What’s Trending Fall 2021

Alright, people. We’ve done the dirty work for you. Here’s everything you need to know regarding Fall 2021’s hottest trends:

What to Wear

For ages now, neutral pieces and colors have been a staple for winter and fall wardrobes. However, not in 2021. Whether because of the prolonged pandemic or people just looking for some fun, this upcoming season will be one of vibrancy.

Rather than a single, standout color, fashion experts agree that all sorts of bold, saturated shades will be taking over our streets. (Or should we say The Shops?)

Thankfully, Carys Lane Boutique is one step ahead (per usual). Their fall collection has already hit the shelves, and it’s full of all those bright and fun, go-to pieces.

What to Do with Your Hair

Hair is not something people normally think about when considering what’s trending. However, you, my friend, should! Similar to fashion, the late ‘90s and early ‘00s hairstyles are back and better than ever. Here’s what we mean:

The ‘90s Bob – sported by none other than Kim K – is once again having its moment. So, if you’ve been wanting to chop your hair, now is the time! According to Chris Appleton, long bobs (lobs) work best on round faces; mid-length and layered bobs frame square faces; and oval faces should aim for something chin-length.

Another hairstyle that’s making its comeback is curtain bangs (which are the kind that part down the center, framing your face). Bangs are a wonderful way of gently shaking-up your normal hairstyle, and curtain bangs are perfect for people who don’t want to go all the way.

However, if you don’t believe us, ask the stylists at 2 Ten Salon & Studios. They are, after all, the professionals.

What to Watch

Netflix has some big shows and movies returning and airing in Fall 2021. Here are the ones that everyone’s talking about:

  • Money Heist (R): This mystery thriller follows a criminal mastermind planning to pull off the biggest heist in human history. Season 5, Part 2 aired earlier this month, and it is living up to the hype of being one of the most-anticipated shows of the season. It won Best Drama Season at the International Emmys.
  • Nailed It! (NR): This reality series originally aired in 2018, with comedian Nicole Byer as its host. In short, bakers with terrible track-records compete to win $10,000 by creating complicated cakes and such. The show has finally returned with Season 6, and it is laugh-out-loud funny. We don’t know about you, but we’ll be binging it.
  • Diana: The Musical: Netflix is our notorious documenter of the Royal Family (hello, The Crown addicts), and this musical is no different. Coming October 1st, Netflix will release this biopic musical of Princess Diana. Who else is excited?!

What to Drink

It might not surprise you to hear that healthy beverages are on the rise. Things like kombucha, bubble tea, and smoothies are projected staples during this fall season. (Especially for us Texans, who will probably be wearing shorts well into October.) This means: Cafe 23:5 will be your saving grace. While they have some beverages that might be stacked in calories, they have many options that are low cal as well. Just ask the barista how to make your favorite beverage a little lighter.

One thing we know is Chai always comes back around during the fall months, and 2021 is no different. Café 23:5 is featuring a Pumpkin Spice Chai this season (trust us, it’s very good), as well as: Salted Caramel Mocha, Autumn Spiced Cider, Pumpkin Cheesecake, and Pumpkin Crème Cold Brew.

And, well, do we really have to tell you that pumpkin is back in?

So, happy fall to you! Let us know which trends you’ll be trying, and, as always, see you at The Shops!
