The Best Winter Date Ideas

With February in full swing, we’ve officially got love on the brain.

But really, can you blame us?! For weeks, the stores have been stocked with heart-shaped boxes of chocolates, bouquets of roses, and just about every sized teddy bear imaginable.

Truly, it feels like everybody is gushing over a little L-O-V-E.

In the spirit of the season, we thought we’d take a minute to offer up a few winter date ideas for you and your sweetie. Whether you are the outdoorsy type, foodies, or total homebodies, we hope at least one of these date ideas will catch your eye:

For the Foodies

Lucky for you, there are so many delicious restaurants to choose from right here at The Shops! For a traditional date night dinner, put on your favorite dress and head on over to Drakes Yoke. They have a drool-worthy selection of barbecue and a fabulous wine collection that is guaranteed to get those romantic vibes flowing.

If brunch is more your thing, spend the morning at Sunny Street Café. They have a delicious stack of buttermilk pancakes that you’re definitely going to want to split (or keep to yourself, if we’re being honest). And don’t forget to take a peek at their seasonal specials menu!

If the weather’s nice (thank you, Texas), we recommend grabbing Hot Chicks Chicken to-go and setting up a picnic. The Shops are surrounded by beautiful landscapes and nature trails that offer some breathtaking dining views. And if you time it just right, you might even be able to catch the sunset.

For the Fitness-Lovers

Seriously, what is more fun than tackling a new fitness class with your favorite gym buddy?! If this sounds like something you could be into, we recommend signing up for a class at Tree of Life Wellness Center or F45 Training together.

Looking for something a little less structured? Why don’t you and your partner take a jog (or stroll or bike ride or rollerblade) through the Willow Park nature trails? Plan to end at Parker County Brewing Company, where you can reward yourself with a nice cold one.

For the Homebodies

If you prefer a night-in to a night out, treat your partner to an at-home date night. Grab a bottle of wine, a yummy array of candles, maybe a charcuterie board, and make a new dinner recipe together. Put on your favorite tunes and plan to impress each other with your culinary skills.

Trust us, there is something so simple, yet so romantic, about a home-cooked meal made with the person you love. Afterward, we always recommend playing a round of cards or Scrabble. Loser has to do the dishes!

No matter what kind of activities you and your partner are into, there are endless possibilities to enjoy time together. Even if you’re well beyond the dating stage, it’s never too late to start intentionally dating your spouse.

So, here’s to you and a new season of date nights! We can’t wait to hear all about them.
